Boat Conveying 28 Passengers Capsizes in Lagos

A boat conveying 28 passengers has capsized in Ikorodu Area of Lagos State.

The incident occurred at Origin Jetty, Ikorodu few metres away from the jetty.

An official of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), said the incident occurred when the ‎boat rammed into wooden logs on the waterway.


The source added that 27 passengers have been rescued out of 28 people in the boat by LASWA water guards.

Efforts to rescue the remaining passenger were ongoing while agency has also commenced investigations into the accident.
