3 of Buhari's Ministers fall sick

Three ministers in the cabinet of President Mohammadu Buhari have been revealed to also been sick, just a few days after President Muhammadu Buhari travelled to London to treat an ear infection.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir David Lawal, disclosed the ministers' illnesses at the beginning of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chamber of State House, Abuja, on Wednesday.

The meeting was chaired by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, and only 22 of the 36 ministers were in attendance.

Osinbajo called on the SGF to offer a Christian opening prayer, after Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, had similarly offered the Muslim opening prayer for the session.

Lawal started by praying for the quick recovery of Buhari, although presidential aides had insisted days earlier that the president was not ill.

He then sought divine healing for the Minister for Women Affairs, Hajia Aisha Alhassan, whom he said is currently recuperating from a surgery she underwent in the the United States of America (USA).

The Federal Government scribe also prayed for the quick recovery of Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, said to be nursing a back pain that prevented him from attending the FEC meeting.

Soon after this, Lawal was reminded by a colleague not to forget praying for Minister of State for Environment, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jubrin, who was also revealed to be suffering from an undisclosed ailment. The SGF then prayed for him too.‎

Earlier, Lai Muhammed had prayed for God to grant the cabinet members the wisdom to take  decisions that would enhance the development of the country.
