Kogi State Government yesterday said it is ready to probe all cases of abandoned projects awarded by previous administrations in the state.
The state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, disclosed this while meeting with contractors handling various projects across the state.
He said he was sad that some projects were awarded between 2008 and 2009 and till date such projects has remained uncompleted or abandoned completely by the contractors.
The governor stressed that the state cannot afford to waste money, adding that all projects executed by the previous administrations in the state will be looked into.
“I was sworn in to protect the interest of the people of Kogi State. I came here with a promise and I will do that. We have to review all major contracts in the state.
“This government is not out to witch hunt anybody or group but to a certain extent, curb wastages. Government is a continuum; we will look into the past.
We are not where we are supposed to be and we have to look inward to enable us know the past about the state to forge ahead.
“We want to achieve a lot for the state and therefore cannot re-award any contract already awarded.
