Activists In Abuja Protest Against Illegal Hiring For Government Jobs

Members of Citizens of Impact, a civil society organization, protested yeterday in Abuja against the secret recruitment throughout government agencies.

It will be recalled that SaharaReporters has published several investigative reports of the rampant illegal hiring schemes in the Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Prisons Service, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). These investigations have revealed massive compromise in the hiring of new recruits with top aides to President Buhari sponsoring new hires and that these hires violated laws of the Federal Character Commission.

Protesters yesterday carried signs demanding that President Buhari reverse these illegal hires with some saying “We support PMB,” “Fight Against Corruption. Only The Rich And Powerful Gets Juicy Appointment,” and “Secret Recruitment Encourages Nepotism.”
