Nigeria music superstar, Iyanya Onoyum Mbuk, popularly known by his stage name Iyanya, about two days ago, made a revealing statement on social media, about his plans to dump MMMG Records label for his own, as well as release a new album.
The 29-year-old Kukere crooner who wrote “I’ll be launching my new label and new album soon”, on his Instagram page, has got his fans going in different directions with comments. A good number of them are applauding his decision, while a few others frown at it, saying it might not be a very smart move, some are imploring him to sign them unto his new label, citing the need to help upcoming music talents through open auditions.
Word on the street is that, prior to this revelation, there have been financial management issues, in Made Men Music Group label camp, which he is currently signed into. It is also rumored that Iyanya and his manger/friend who doubles as the CEO of Triple MG, have had their issues for a while now.
This year, Iyanya is currently returning to his R&B roots. He is planning a collaborative R&B album with EME singer, Banky W. So far, he has released two singles, Type of Woman and Heart Beat from the project. He is trying to relaunch himself into the industry, and has come to the decision that he needs to split from Ubi Franklin.
