Police arrest man with son’s head

The Police in Bauchi on Monday said they have arrested a 25 year old man, Maikudi Mohammed, for being in possession of the head of his child.

The Police Spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, a Superintendent of Police, disclosed this in a release made available to newsmen in Bauchi.

He said the man who was arrested in Misau town in Misau Local government area, following intelligence report had the head wrapped in a cloth.

He added that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and his accomplice went to a burial ground in Galambi village and removed the head of his child who had died and was buried to sell to a customer still at large.

Mohammed stated that “On the 7/7/2016 at about 3pm, following intelligence report, one Maikudi Mohammed, male, (25) of Galambi village was arrested with Suspected Human head wrapped inside a cloth by Police detectives in Misau Town.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that Suspect conspired with his accomplice, one Damina Mohammed, male, (26) of the same address, and went to a grave yard in Galambi village and removed the head of a male child corpse in order to sale it to their Customer now at large.

“The principal suspect confessed that the child was his Son who died and was buried but he later went back to the graveyard at night with his accomplice and exhumed it.”

He said the case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.
