Woman crushed to death by a learner-driver friend

A female learner-driver identified as Glory Okocha has crushed another woman identified as Remi Nwokolor to death while driving.

Sources told reporters that the incident occurred Friday evening.

Mrs. Okocha, a member of the Word of Faith Christian Centre Church located in Nomansland, Sabon Gari, Kano where the incident occurred was said to be a close friend of the deceased.

According to eyewitness account, before the tragic incident occurred, Mrs. Okocha had a brief chat with the deceased before her death.

According to the sources, the female driver, while about to drive out of the church premises, with her automatic Toyota jeep suddenly hit the victim before smashing the vehicle, which was trapped by a wall in her front.

On arrival, the security operatives impounded the ill-fated vehicle and towed it to the Police station, while the female driver was detained at the station.

Police officers on duty, recorded the charge as causing death by dangerous driving at Panisau Road, Sabon Gari, Kano.

At the time of filing this report, Security operatives at Nomansland Police state have commenced investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

Also, it was gathered that the deceased, who was the daughter of owner of the popular, Millennium Hotel, Sabon Gari has been praying for over eight years for fruit of the womb before she met her untimely demise.

Already, both the husband of the deceased, as well as family members of driver of the ill-fated Toyota jeep have all stormed Nomansland Police Station to make statements.

Meanwhile, remains of the deceased, Remi Nwokolor have been deposited at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy, while police investigation has commenced in earnest.
