APC’s change has brought woes to Nigerians – Ekiti Speaker

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Kola Oluwawole said at the weekend that Nigerians have seen what the change mantra of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led the country to.
He noted that hunger, despondency, insecurity, nepotism, joblessness, electoral fraud and general economic woes had been the lot of the nation since the ‘change’ came.

In a statement by his Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, Oluwawole was quoted as making these statements during a visit to his constituents in Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State at the weekend.

The Speaker, who was welcomed by mammoth crowd at each of the wards he visited, noted that “feedback mechanism is a must for us as representatives of the people. I cannot neglect you. It is my duty to give back to my people. My expectation to bring dividends of democracy to you, my people, when I was campaigning was very high.

“When we got there, we discovered that the previous administration had put the state in huge debt. Since then, we have been doing our best. We have empowered youths and helped students who could not afford to pay school fees to do so, etc.

“As you can see, this is what the change they promised us has lead us to. We have hunger, despondency, joblessness, insecurity, nepotism, electoral fraud and general economic woes to show for their change.

“We need your prayers so that we can do more. After this visitation, I shall pick at least five widows from each ward who we will be giving certain amount of money every month. The programme is going to be in batches and we are going to ensure, as much as possible, that it cuts across.”
