FC Ifeanyi Ubah maintained their steady rise on the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) table with an emphatic 1-0 win over Wikki Tourists yesterday.
The victory by the Anambra Warriors has shot them to the third position on the log with 52 points from 33 matches. The heart-warming performance by the Nnewi-based team was a subtle way by the players to welcome the president of the club, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, from a recent visit to London where he achieved a landmark breakthrough for the club, with the signing of a partnership between Capital Oil and Gas,FC Ifeanyi Ubah and West Ham United.
The Anambra Warriors’ goal against Wikki Tourists came in the 70th minute when Jimoh Oni connected a through pass from Seka Pascal who unarguably was the man of the match.
The fans who thronged the FC Ifeanyi Ubah International stadium were thrown into a frenzy celebration as they sang and danced without ceasing.
Coach Rafael Everton of FC Ifeanyi Ubah commended his players for a job well done, noting that the match against Wikki Tourists was such a technical match, saying that the most important thing was that his side has picked the three points at stake.
