We are Biafrans not Cowards, MASSOB replies Buhari

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), yesterday, bluntly told President Muhammadu Buhari that Biafra agitators “can never forget their struggle for self-rule”.
MASSOB was responding to a media statement credited to the president where he reportedly said that those angling for the restoration of Biafra should think of how better to engage their times.
The president had spoken at his country home in Daura, Katsina where he went to spend the Eid-el-Kabir holidays.
Speaking with our correspondent on phone, MASSOB’s Director of Information, Sunny Okereafor, said the agitation for Biafra “is a mass movement which nobody born of a woman can stop”.
He said that “Anybody still thinking that Biafra is a tall dream is rather living in the past and has to admit the fact that Biafra has come to stay”.

The MASSOB Spokesman said President Buhari, despite his opposition to the struggle “will soon see Biafra actualised”.
His words: “We can’t forget Biafra; we will continue to fight until we get our freedom. Nobody can stop Biafra, not even Buhari or the security agencies, no matter how hard they try.
“Biafra is a struggle of over 60 million people. How can we forget the struggle after 4 million Biafrans were massacred during the civil war and others still being wasted by security agents today?”
Okereafor advised Buhari to channel his energy on how to resuscitate Nigeria’s failing economy instead of “trying to stand on the way of a moving train”.
He said Buhari should be courageous enough to conduct a referendum to confirm the popularity of the agitation for Biafra instead of resorting to empty propaganda.
“If I were Buhari, I wouldn’t have tried to rule Nigeria again because he has since blown the little integrity he earned in his first outing as a military Head of State.
“If he likes the truth, he will know that majority of the ethnic nationalities that make up Nigeria now want to go their separate ways because of his draconian tendencies and misrule which have made life very miserable for most people.
“Even those outside Biafra who pretend to believe in the so-called one Nigeria, will prefer to be independent now if given the opportunity”, he said.
