Ifeanyi Ubah disassociates self from fake social media accounts, promises to expose the fraudsters

The Managing Director of Capital Oil & Gas, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, on Saturday, disassociated himself from several social media accounts, opened with his name, particularly on Facebook, to defraud unsuspecting and innocent people.

In a statement released on his official Facebook page, Dr. Ubah condemned the criminal elements behind these accounts, berating them for continually using his name to hawk fraudulent employment opportunities while promising to expose them as the relevant authorities have commenced investigation.

The statement read: 

"My attention has been drawn to a spate of fraudulent facebook posts/messages being bandied around under the guise of Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah in a bid to extort unsuspecting and innocent people.

These messages mostly take the form of promising employment in my various establishments (mostly Capital Oil and Gas, The Authority Newspapers, FC Ifeanyi Ubah), with the unemployed and underemployed being the obvious targets. This has left me in rude shock and I sincerely empathize with all those who might have fallen prey to these devilish vultures.

In view of the above, I sincerely plead with everyone, especially my teeming followers to kindly disregard all messages and facebook posts emanating from other facebook accounts/pages under the guise of Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. They are all parody accounts/pages and all of them are the works of mischievous people with the sole intention of defrauding unsuspecting and innocent people.

Please NOTE that I do not promote any business activity that requires any form of payment online NEITHER will I solicit for payments of any service through Facebook, twitter or any other social media platform. Any/all vacancies in my companies (Capital Oil and Gas Industries Limited, The Authority Newspapers, FC Ifeanyi Ubah amongst others) will be duly advertised in at least one of the daily newspaper in line with the policy of the respective companies.

We have reported several of these accounts and their activities to the appropriate authorities and investigations have commenced. While Facebook have graciously taken down some of these accounts, we are putting extra efforts to make sure these unscrupulous elements are tracked down, exposed and made to face the law after we must have revealed their true identities to the world.
