IPOB: Group Demands Justice Nyako’s Resignation Over Secret Trial of Kanu

Irked by Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako’s ruling on Wednesday that embattled leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu be put on secret trial, the members of the group have called for her immediate resignation
IPOB which described the ruling as “a disgrace to the Judiciary and the course of justice” said it had lost confidence in Justice Nyako, hence the need for her to hands off from the matter.

This position was contained in a press statement issued yesterday by IPOB Spokesperson, Clifford Iroanya, and Emma Nmezu.
“We no longer have confidence in her adjudication on the matter concerning Nnamdi Kanu and the other Biafrans. She should honourably resign”, the statement stated.
IPOB also alleged that the refusal of Justice Nyako to grant bail to Kanu who had never taken up arms against Nigeria was only a confirmation that she was acting a script by the Federal Government.
The pro- Biafra group further alleged that the Presidency had instructed Nyako to ensure Kanu was tried and jailed before the inauguration of the US President- elect, Donald Trump on January 20.
