Abdulkhadir Kure Ex-Gov of Niger State , Dies in Germany

Niger State was on Sunday even­ing thrown into mourning following the death of the third civilian governor of the state, Al­haji Abdulkhadir Abdul­lahi Kure.
The former governor was said to have died in Germany Sunday afternoon where he was flown for medical treat­ment three weeks ago.
According to family sources, he was taken to Germany for kidney re­lated sickness.
The Chief Press Secre­tary to the former Gov­ernor, Alhaji Mahmud Abdullahi, confirmed the incident on tele­phone.

He said arrangement was already being made by the family to bring the remains of the former governor to the country for burial.
Born on February 26, 1956, the late Kure is survived by wife, Sen­ator Zaynab Kure, six children comprising four boys two girls.
He was the Director of Engineering Servic­es in the Federal Capital Territory before joining politics.
The late former gov­ernor was a foundation member of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and became its Gover­nor in Niger state for two terms 1999-2011.
After leaving office, he became a member, Board of Trustees of the party.
He was also a member of the Senator Ahmed Makarfi faction of the PDP.
A devastated state Chairman of the par­ty, Alhaji Tanko Beji de­scribed the incident as sad, saying “We cannot query God.”
