Alleged Brutality: Army to Investigate Brutal Beating of Cripple by two Soldiers in Onitsha (Full Video)

The Nigerian Army has begun investigations into a very chilling video which emerged on the internet Wednesday evening of two soldiers brutalizing a mentally challenged cripple in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Nigerian Army spokesman, Brig Gen Sani Kukasheka Usman, who was very upset with the video clip when it was brought to his notice, immediately drew the attention of the Army high command to the trending video.

General Usman later told The Authority that “the matter is being handled. We are investigating the matter with a view to identifying those involved. I want to assure you the Nigerian Army would not tolerate any act of indiscipline and unprofessional conduct from any of its personnel. All those involved would face full wrath of the law.”

In the video, two soldiers of the Nigerian Army were at their lowest ebb as they maliciously beat up a man identified as a mentally challenged cripple in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The cripple’s offence was that he wore a Nigerian Army camouflage uniform.

The mentally challenge cripple who goes by the nickname of “Onye Army,” which means ‘Army Man’ is said to be popular and known within the Onitsha environs where he has become the area landmark.

Sources said that until the “awful and unwarranted brutal beating” of the cripple by the two soldiers, he was a peaceful part of the community.
