Nigerian Christians, Muslims Can't live independently - Yakubu Gowon

The former Head of State, Gen Yakubu Gowon (rtd) says Nigeria cannot survive without the cooperation and support of worshipers of the two major religions in the country.
He stated this during a courtesy call on Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State in Government House Yola.
He said that his visit was to attend a two day-prayers in the state and prayed for Nigeria and the leadership which is in dire need of God’s intervention.

According to him, Christians and Muslim have more similarity than a differences because they offer the same kind of prayers to God, preaching the message of peace, unity and togetherness.
The former Head of State added that he was on the tour of the North East for prayer rallies under a Programme tagged: “Nigeria Prays”.
“We are here to pray for the country and we started it since earlier 1999. I believe that If we can get all Nigerians to pray to God, He will heal our land as Nigerian cannot do without the help of Christian and Muslim, so we must be together”, he said.
Gowon while commending the developmental strides of Gov Bindow said the development from the airport to Government House Yola was impressive.”
He said the development is unprecedented and urged other state governors to emulate Gov Bindow.
Bindow, in a response, stated that he remained privileged and honoured to have Gen Gowon in the state as the former Head of State is a father to him.
