Drama as Stuffy Chamber Forces Kogi Assembly to Abandon Sitting for the Second Time

For the second time in one week, members of the Kogi State House of As­sembly have failed to hold their sitting due to the absence of power supply and stuffy nature of the chamber.
The 6th Assembly has been relying on a generating set to run its sessions due to the epileptic power supply in Lo­koja, the state capital.

The House Majority Lead­er, Hon Matthew Kolawole, who moved the motion for an adjournment on Wednes­day, could not hide his feeling over the heat in the chamber.
It was gathered that the generating plant had packed up and efforts to fix it had failed to yield.
This prompted the Speaker, Hon Ahmed Imam, to rule on the suspension of three mo­tions which were slated for deliberation on Wednesday.
The Assembly resolved to reconvene today with the expectation that the out­ages leading to excessive heat which had previously stalled their sittings would have been addressed.
