Ethiopian Airline with 110 Passengers Arrives Kaduna International Airport

International flight operations yesterday kicked-off at the al­ternate Kaduna Interna­tional Airport yesterday as Nnamdi Azikwe Inter­national Airport, Abuja, finally closed down op­eration on Wednesday.
The operation kick-started with the Ethiopi­an Airlines flight, Boeing 787 which arrived Kadu­na from China, enroute Addis Ababa with about 100 passengers, includ­ing Nigerians and for­eigners.
The aircraft touched ground in Kaduna at ex­actly 11:40am and later departed Kaduna Interna­tional Airport for Dubai, through Addis Ababa.

The Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, who was on ground to welcome the first inter­national flight to Ka­duna said, the coming of Ethiopian Airlines with a Dream-liner Boeing 787 aircraft was a signal that Kaduna Airport is a good choice.
He, therefore, ex­pressed optimism that international airlines like Luthtanza, Air France and others who had ear­lier declined flying to Ka­duna will have a change of mind.
The Minister while commending the Ethio­pian Airlines and its government said, Nige­ria is using the current challenge of diversion of flights from Abuja to Kaduna to identify her friends.
According to him, “We have mixed feelings be­cause we all know why we are in Kaduna is because the runway in Abuja has failed due to neglect over the years. But we are hap­py because there is an al­ternative.
One of the passengers, Annah Gery, who arrived Kaduna on board the Ethiopian aircraft, said it was fine, and landing in Kaduna was as conve­nient as landing in other international airports.
