Gov Wike Vows to Revive Isiokpo and Make it Economically Viable

In a bid to improve the economy of Isio­kpo, the headquar­ters of Ikwerre Local Government Area, in Rivers State, the state government has award­ed contract for the con­struction of the internal roads of the town.
Gov Nyesom Wike, who announced the award of the contract while speaking during the Thanksgiving Ser­vice in honour of PDP Chieftain, Chief Max­well Tasie-Amadi, who survived an open-heart surgery at the Saint John’s Anglican Church, Isiokpo, declared that the people of Isiokpo will no longer suffer marginalisation.

The governor said that his administration will ensure that roads in the town are motorable and other basic ameni­ties improved upon.
He said that the road from Isiokpo to Ibaa is already under construc­tion in line with his promise to the people.
The governor said, “We will revive Isiokpo and make it economi­cally viable once again. Like other cities, Isiokpo will bubble again”.
He lauded the people of Isiokpo for support­ing his administration, pointing out that he will change the nega­tive narrative foisted on Isiokpo by the immedi­ate past governor who hails from Ikwerre Lo­cal Government Area.
Isiokpo, the head­quarter of Ikwerre Local Government Area was completely neglected by the immediate past APC administration in the state on the account of perceived differences.
Commenting on the thanksgiving, Gov Wike thanked God for grant­ing good health to Chief Tasie-Amadi after his open-heart surgery.
Chief Maxwell Tasie-Amadi, in an earlier remark said that God used Governor Wike to ensure that he re­gains his health. He said that the governor acted promptly after learning of his condition.
