(PHOTOS) Former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon Visits Buhari

Former military head of state of Nigeria Yakubu Gowon has paid a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa Aso Rock in Abuja. Although details of the meeting were still sketchy at press time, the purpose of the visit was crucial. the Report said

The last time both men's name were mentioned together in public domain was about a month ago when President Buhari, on Sunday, March 5, called Nigeria while on vacation in the United Kingodm to commiserate with General Yakubu Gowon (rtd) over the passing away of his younger sister Kande Martha Audu.

Presidential spokesman Femi Adesina confirmed this in a statement on Monday, March 6 afternoon.

Before today, it could be recalled that Gowon has visited Buhari at least two times in the last 7 months. For instance, on Thursday, October 27, 2016, Buhari received the former military head of state at the Presidential Villa.

The two leaders met behind closed doors inside the President’s office. Before then, they had met about two months earlier when they discussed a number of national issues on August 23, 2016.
