Akpabio Endorses Gov Wike for Second Term Says He is The Best Governor in the Country

For accomplishing so much in less than two years in office, the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has endorsed the Rivers State Governor, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for another term in office.
Senator Akpabio said that he is supporting Wike for another term because Rivers State needs his wealth of experience in development for total transformation.

He described Governor Wike as the best performing governor in the country.
Commissioning the completed Kpopie-Bodo Road in Gokana Local Government Area on Monday, Senator Akpabio expressed gratitude to God for allowing him to witness another governor in the Niger Delta who believes in profound development.
He commended Governor Wike for diligently constructing the Kpopie-Bodo Road, which has given the people of the area a sense of belonging.
He said: “From the pictures I have seen here, I wonder how you people lived before Nyesom Wike became governor. Oh my people, you must have suffered. This road will help revive the economy of the area”.
He said that by creating access to the communities of Gokana, Governor Wike has empowered them and given them the leverage to grow.
In his remarks, Governor Wike said that his administration has fulfilled the promise it made to Gokana people, without giving excuses.
He regretted that the former Works Commissioner under the Amaechi administration, Mr Victor Giadom, who hails from Gokana Local Government Area, allowed a project under his supervision to be abandoned.
He noted that the Senate Minority Leader was invited to commission the project because he was one of the pillars of support during the electioneering period.
Wike affirmed stated that he will continue to deliver democracy dividends to the people of the state.
The Commissioner of Works, Iheanyichuku Bathuel, said that Kpopie-Bodo Road which is about 10 kilometres, has been fitted with street lights.
The Secretary to Rivers State Government, Sir Kenneth Kobani, lauded Governor Wike for his commitment to the development of Ogoni land.
He assured the governor of the support of Ogoni people in his future political endeavours. The highpoint of the occasion was the conferment of a chieftaincy title on Governor Wike by the Gokana Traditional Rulers Council.
Meanwhile, Wike has asserted the formation of a new cult group by a former governor of the state to create security crisis in the state.
Governor Wike revealed this while speaking at the commissioning of the Kpopie-Bodo Road in Gokana Local Government Area on Monday as part of activities to commemorate two years anniversary of his administration. He said the new cult group formed by the former governor has been christened “New Rivers Cult Group.”
The governor while alerting the security agencies about the new group, said they should call the former governor to order as the new cult group would be resisted by the law abiding people of the state.
He revealed that the former governor inaugurated the cult group at a private residence in Woji area of Port Harcourt, after which he distributed N500, 000 to each of the 23 local government areas.
He noted that the new cult group has two coordinators who have been mobilised by the former governor.
He said one of the coordinators was currently standing trial for murder.
Gov. Wike said: “Let me alert Nigerians. I am only informing Nigerians and security agencies of the crime against Rivers State by the former governor. We have successfully concluded the state amnesty programme for cultists in the state, but the former governor has set up another cult group.”
Wike explained that the former governor assured members of his new cult group that they will receive security protection, adding that the new cult group members have been armed for the 2019 general elections.
“I am shouting for the security agencies to hear us. Let heaven hear us. Let nobody allow his son to be used. No amount of cult recruitment can intimidate us. I am calling on the security agencies to call the former governor to order.”
