CABAL: Niger President's Visit to Buhari Shelved

Aso Rock last night announced a sudden postponement of the visit of the President of Niger Republic, Mahamadou Issoufou, to President Muhammadu Buhari scheduled for this Friday morning.
Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, explained in a press statement that the postponement was at the instance of Issoufou, who said he had another domestic engagement to attend to.

Adesina said plans had been concluded for Buhari to receive the Nigerien leader at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa and thereafter attend the Jumma'at prayer with him at the State House mosque, before the postponement.
He disclosed however, that a new date would be announced for the visit.
Adesina's statement reads: "The visit of President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger Republic to President Muhammadu Buhari scheduled for Friday, May 5, 2017, has been put forward.
"The rescheduling is at the instance of President Issoufou who has another domestic engagement.
"All arrangements had been concluded for President Buhari to receive his Nigerien counterpart and his delegation at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa and attend the Jumaat prayers together as well as lunch, before the last-minute postponement.
"A new date for the visit will be announced in due course."
