In the build up to the star match and much anticipated game between Champions, FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Ozalla FC, the Proprietor of Ozalla FC, Mr Osueke had revealed plans to topple the NPFL Giant.
The Fortress was almost sold out as fans from all over the state trooped out to see if Ozalla FC could actually walk the talk.
Whatever plans Ozalla FC had prior to kickoff, were instantly eviscerated as King Osanga latched on a Jimoh pass to crack open Ozalla’s skull in the 3rd minute of the encounter.
They were still smarting from the shocking start when Seka Pascal doubled Anambra Warrior’s lead in the 20th minute which forced Ozalla to throw away their plans and opt for the simpler tactic: OPERATION PARK 40-FEET CONTAINER!
Ozalla went from an expansive team to a “belle-face” team in an instant and spent the remainder of the game, defending for their lives as if there would be an award for the BEST PARKED CONTAINER
Meanwhile at Neros Stadium, CKC squared off against Morning Stars in the second game of the day.
That was a more even contest as both teams couldn’t be separated in regulation time having shared 4 goals between them which meant that once again, the penalty lottery was engaged to decide who will face FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the Semifinals.
CKC emerged triumphant, converting all their spot kicks expertly while Morning Stars were left to rue their ill luck as they could only convert 4, missing 1 in the process
