Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has agreed to sell Alex
Oxlade Chamberlain to Liverpool, according to reports.
Arsene Wenger agrees to sell £25m Arsenal star to Premier League rival
The English winger has grown frustrated at his lack of chances at the Emirates and wants to leave the club in order to get better first team opportunities elsewhere.
Liverpool are understood to be considering a move for Oxlade Chamberlain as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his current squad ahead of the new season, that will see them compete in the Champions League for the first time in as many seasons.
Chelsea and Manchester City have been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old but reports in the Independent claim that the Reds are leading in the race to sign the star this summer.
Jurgen is understood to be an avid admirer of Oxlade Chamberlain’s qualities and will move for him with reports that the German is planning to add three more players to his squad after the arrival of Mohamed Salah from Serie A side, Roma.
The report also claim that Arsene Wenger is open to the idea of selling Chamberlain in order to free up their wagebill due to the new Premier League regulations that clubs’ salary expenditure ‘should not be more than £7m than it was in the previous season.’
