President Buhari Presides Over FEC Meeting, Gifts N1m Each For DTigress Players

After a long absence, President Muhammadu Buhari this morning presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Aso Rock Villa.

He curiously did not chair the meeting last week after he returned from a three-month medical vacation in London penultimate Saturday, August 19th.

The President was welcomed with a standing ovation from excited cabinet members as he walked into the Council Chamber for the meeting, after which the National Anthem and opening prayers were said.

Minister of Communications, Adebayo, said the Muslim prauers, thanking God for bringing Buhari back in peace and not pieces, and for a reinvigorated cabinet, while Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, said the Christian prayers, asking God to protect the President and the nation.

Before the FEC meeting commenced, Buhari hosted players and officials of the Nigerian female basketball national team, D'Tigress that won the just concluded 2017 FIBA Women's AfroBasket tournament in Mali.

The President thanked them for doing the nation proud, disclosing that he followed their progress in the tournament on television.

He announced a cash award of N1million for each of the players and N500,000 for each of the official handlers.
