A top official of FC Ifeanyi Ubah has insisted that the Nnewi club are not owing salaries of players, while also maintaining that thugs did not storm a meeting between the management and the players yesterday.
The official said FC Ifeanyi Ubah are not behind in their payment of salaries to the players.
“We do not owe our players five months’ salary. There is no club in the Nigeria Premier league that does not owe their players, but we as a club try as much as possible to ensure our players are happy,” the top official told SCORENigeria
“We are not even owing two months’ salary. We have invited the LMC to come and look at our books and see. The truth is that we have a few bad eggs within the players and we need to weed them out.”
“We are the only club who sign players with advance payment.
“Do you need me to list out players that we have made advance payment to who still owe the club?
“In as much as I don’t like to talk about these issues, I must say that a lot of our players have collected loans that they are yet to offset.”
He added:”We are a very organised club, we cannot just begin to dole out monies we must reconcile the books and give to players what is left.
“We have appealed to them to understand that this things need to be done and as such we need just a little time to get this done. Some of them understand but some are proving very difficult and they are the once instigating this assumed problem in the club.”
