Why I Am Against Micro Zoning The Position Of President, National Chairman And National Publicity Secretary In PDP

-First and foremost, micro zoning is a negation of the principles of internal democracy within the party.
It was lack of internal democracy that led to the loss of States like Benue, Nassrawa, Plateau and many others in 2015.

While in States like Rivers, Taraba where the principles of internal democracy was practiced the party had landslides victory.

2- Micro-zoning is another name for selection based on who you know and where you come from...
It is not good for us as a party. It means a selected few determine who takes what elective position in the party.

3- Coming to the South, micro-zoning the Chairmanship of the party to any geopolitical zone would not only enhance mistrust, it would promote hate and betrayal.
For instance, if the position is zoned to the South East, the candidates from the South South and South West, by extension their electorates would feel estranged, embittered and are likely to gang up and work against whoever emerges as protest.

4- The best candidates are not normally selected in this type of arrangements leading to lackluster performance during elections.

6- Micro-zoning only breeds loyalty to benefactors and not to the party and doesn't put the interest of the party first.

7- Finally, micro-zoning may eventually lead to the decapitation of the PDP as the best of the bests are pushed out of the party.

This was seen when certain forces imposed Sen Ali Modu Sheriff as the party chair.
It would only lead to poaching of good and aggrieved members of the PDP.
In my opinion, all the candidates from the South West, South East and South South should be allowed to contest in a free and fair environment and let the best of the bests emerge as the Chairman of Africa's largest party.
