In what can be qualified as bizarre and a national embarrassment, the clueless administration of President Muhammadu Buhari made 1,468 appointments into boards of government agencies, Parastatals and heads of governmental organizations, and in these appointments, dead persons were listed while some persons were appointed more than once into different agencies and positions.
This monumental gaffe has once again shown this government to be one bereft of persons with the intellectual diligence and acumen necessary to handle the serious business of running a government.
If we could remember, this same government introduced padded budgets into the lexicon of fiscal planning in Nigeria. It was under this same administration that Nigeria was mortally embarrassed internationally as having a President that still thinks Western Germany was still in existence.
Saying that the President mustn’t know everything is a moot point when one takes into cognizance the fact that his aides and advisers are supposed to know. It is for this reason that Chief Executives of countries, States, and organizations appoint technical and non-technical aides that will help them in running a smooth operation.
The continuous blunder and gaffe of this administration is a pointer that what our President isn’t intellectually capable of; his aides are also intellectually bereft of it. This is a sad situation that has given rise to the perennial embarrassment that Nigeria has become in the international stage.
It has become quite worrisome to discerning and concerned Nigerians that our president has, since the inception of his administration, engaged in policies, speeches and comments that have made Nigeria a source of derisive amusement within and outside the shores of our country.
Our youths in the Diaspora continually complain of the mockery they endure in the hands of other nationals because of the infinite blunders emanating from the Presidency. This APC government of President Muhammadu Buhari has turned governance into a circus of clownish histrionics and horseplay. Nigeria is now seen as a theatre of the absurd.
In the said 1,468 appointments of the dead and zombies, septuagenarians and octogenarians dominated the appointments with people below 40 years making less than 0.5%. This trend shows a deep seethed disdain for Nigerian youths by this administration.
We cannot continue to hope against all hope that this government will change its ways. It is now evident that it will never change for the better rather the deplorable slide will continue until one day the youths of Nigeria will find themselves and our country in forlorn and despondent oblivion.
The time to rescue our country from mediocre gerontocracy is now. As youths, we must shun all lethargic apathy toward elections and make sure we get our Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) so that with it we can vote out this spurious government and change the change.
Youths all over the world are rescuing their countries from imminent collapse by mobilizing and galvanizing themselves into a political force and consciousness with powers as potent as those of a tsunami, tornado and earthquake combined.
The world over, a new terminology ‘YouthQuake’ has been coined for the power youths have to cause political revolutions in their countries through the ballot. It is time in Nigeria that we exhibit and showcase the power of YouthQuake by voting out this moribund government of dinosaurs and Neanderthals.
This 2018 is the year will must rise up as youths to support the PDP in kicking out this visionless and directionless government out of power in the 2019 presidential poll.
The struggle to rescue our dear country and our future as youths starts now. Get your PVC in this 2018 and support the PDP to change the change in 2019.
Let us show support for PDP YouthQuake by getting our PVC and voting out this spurious change.
Long live Nigerian youths!
Long live the PDP and its YouthQuake!!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!
Long live the PDP and its YouthQuake!!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!
Signed
