BREAKING NEWS: A Must Read: Buhari Plans Clampdown On Media Houses

As a way of ensuring that opposition parties and elements are completely decimated and shut out of the campaigns leading to the 2019 General Elections, the APC led Federal Government has concluded arrangements to shut and clamp down on electronic, Print and Social Media houses perceived to be hostile to its re-election plans.

This is part of a groundswell conspiracy to deal opposition a major blow from which they cannot recover enough to put up any reasonable fight in the build up to the 2019 campaigns.

Notable among those marked for closure are Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower Radio Stations, independent Newspapers, The Sun, Thisday and a number of social media platforms considered by the Government to be its major opposition in the forthcoming campaigns and elections.

Recall that early in November 2017, there were reports that the Federal Government has begun secret moves towards clamping down on a number of online news media, citing “threat to national security” as guise.

Already, the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed is believed to have set up a committee to work out ways and means of achieving his objectives.

A pundit who is a sympathiser of the Buhari administration said last night “things could become awfully bad for the President and his campaigns for re-election because of such petty and very amateurish tendencies and actions of people who are clearly power drunk.”

Multiple sources in Lagos and Abuja have confirmed that the mastermind of this plot is the Minister for information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who is believed to be urging the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to provide him with a fait accompli to enable a full execution of the project.
