The Senator representing Owerri Zone in the Senate, Sen. Samdaddy Anyanwu has congratulated Workers in Imo State on the 2018 International Workers Day Celebration also known as May Day.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Kelechi Eke, Sen. Anyanwu described workers are true heroes of every nation and the ladder through which the economy of every nation grows.
"As heaven is a blessing to all living things, workers are blessings to every nation. "They are diligent and deserve to be rewarded and celebrated" he said.
Sen. Anyanwu who is also a frontline PDP governorship aspirant in the State eulogised workers who strive every day to give their best to their families. "Take this opportunity to feel very proud for your hard work" he urged them.
The governorship hopeful acknowledged the harsh working conditions of workers both at the public and private sectors, especially with the unrealistic minimum wage and dwindling economy.
Sen. Samdaddy Anyanwu reassured Imo workers of his support in their demand for an increase in their minimum wage, while charging them to be hopeful of a better Imo State everybody will be proud of. He congratulated the workers and wished them a happy celebration.
