Government Of Akwa Ibom State Of Nigeria Celebrate Teachers

The Government and the good people of Akwa Ibom State join the rest of the world to celebrate teachers on the occasion of the 2018 World Teachers Day.

The commitment of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel to the holistic development of Akwa Ibom people, including teachers, is manifest in the regular and prompt payment of salaries; free and compulsory basic education for Akwa Ibom children up to senior secondary school level; annual payment of over N600M WAEC fees; and free medical services for the aged and children under the age of five.
 
The developmental strides of His Excellency have certainly enhanced the teaching and learning environment in schools, with attendant increase in school enrolment across the state.
