Police In Katsina State Arrested Armed Robbery Syndicate That Specializes In Strangulating Their Victims

The Katsina State Police Command on Thursday, paraded member of a notorious armed robbery syndicate that specializes in strangulating commercial motorcycle riders to a state of unconsciousness and robbing them of their motorcycles

Spokesperson for the Command, SP Isah Gambo said that the syndicate of armed robbery suspects were smashed on April 15.

"On 10/04/2019 at about 14:30hrs, the suspects one Harisu Audu, ‘m’, aged 23yrs and Tanimu Abdu, ‘m’, aged 18yrs both of Kubulen Gada village of Niger Republic chattered an Okada commercial rider, one Mustapha Alto of Sharifawa village, Daura LGA of Katsina state to Dan-Nakola village, Daura while on their way the suspects used cable wire and strangulated the victim to a state of unconsciousness and made away with his motorcycle Daylong, unregistered, valued one hundred and ninety three thousand naira (N183,000:00K). In the course of investigation suspects were apprehended with the said motorcycle at Birnin Kudu, Jigawa state. Suspects have confessed to the commission of the offence. They will be arraigned in court for prosecution." said Gambo
