Former Barcelona and Tottenham striker, Giovani dos Santos suffered a gruesome injury during Club America's 4-1 victory over Guadalajara on Saturday, September 28.
The 30-year-old Mexican footballer was pictured on the floor in agony after he was floored by opponent Antonio Briseno whose high boot caught him above the knee.
The horrible challenge pierced the striker's skin, leaving a deep gash in his right leg.
The Guadalajara centre-back was sent off for the foul and he is also likely facing a lengthy ban for his tackle.
Club América’s Twitter account confirmed that there wasn’t a bone injury, but that dos Santos, who joined the club in July, suffered a quadriceps injury and will be out about 6 weeks.
