51 Coronavirus patients who underwent successful treatment have been discharged by the Katsina state government.
Dr Kabiru Mustapha, the state's Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and member of the Katsina State COVID-19 Committee made the announcement on Thursday May 21. He also revealed that 13 deaths linked to Coronavirus complications has been recorded in the state.
While five of the late Coronavirus patients were admitted in the state's isolation center, the remaining 8 were based on the symptomatic observations carried out after they died and outcome of a medical test conducted on their samples.
Mustapha said;
”As it is, the COVID-19 Committee now hold their meetings through the zones and there is no point to connect everybody at the moment. We really are at very serious position, there are a lot of cases now to handle.
”I am just coming from the IDP Centre, if you go there you see people being trained on how to manage the facilities. We are doing training for the handlers, ward attendants and other personnel.”
The Permanent Secretary who disclosed that 285 positive cases have been recorded in the state as at yesterday May 21, added that 300 samples are yet to be returned.
