My Church May Not Open Till End Of The Year - Pastor Tunde Bakare

Former Vice Presidential candidate and founder of Citadel Global Community Church formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare has disclosed that his church may not open till the Coronavirus pandemic is over.

Pastor Tunde Bakare said this at the second edition of the virtual 3Gz — Guys, Girls and God — session of the CGCC Legacy Youth Fellowship.

Recalling how Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu predicted that August will be the month they will likely record lots of Coronavirus cases in Lagos and Nigeria in a virtual meeting he had with him, the Pastor stated that he is not in a rush to reopen a building when services can be done virtually and more people can be reached with the “word of truth”.

Pastor Bakare who stated that the church is not about tithe and offerings but about edifying the people and fixing the challenges of the world, added that “government cannot shut the church but only a building."

The founder of Citadel Global Community Church also cited Genesis Chapter 8 while recalling how Noah who spent 150 days in the ark sent out the raven to check if the flood has dried up.

He said;

Noah was on a lockdown for 150 days. Noah was not trying to prove his anointing by coming out to swim in the flood.

Pastor Bakare further recalled how a choir in the United States which met for rehearsals recorded transmission of the novel coronavirus disease among over 40 of its members and deaths.

He concluded by saying;

“We are not opening till the coast is clear."
