Everton Legend Leighton Baines Confirms Retirement From Football

Everton legend, Leighton Baines has announced his retirement from football.

The former England left-back, 35, made 420 appearances for Everton after joining for £6million from Wigan in 2007 and during his career scored 39 goals and registered 67 assists for the club. Baines won 30 caps for England but the emergence of Luke Shaw limited his chances in the national team.

Baines’ final match came as a 70th-minute substitute against Bournemouth on Sunday July 26 where the team suffered a 3-1 home defeat.
