Barely 24 hours after 27 students and three teachers were abducted by armed bandits from the Government Science College Kagara, a group of bandits on Wednesday evening February 17, attacked communities in Gurmana Ward of Shiroro local government area of Niger state, killing several persons and abducted over 30 persons.
The Nation reports that the bandits who rode on motorcycles and shooting sporadically, attacked Sarkin Zama, Bakin Kogi (Lagbe), Siyiko and other adjoining communities.
The Co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youths, Sani Abubakar Kokki, who confirmed the attack, said the injured villagers were taken to health facilities around the communities for medical attention.
The state police command is yet to comment on the recent attack.
