The first incident was recorded on Sunday in Nok village, about 20km from Sambang while the second earthquake scare occurred in the early hours of the remote community yesterday.
Panic-stricken residents said that they experienced another earth tremor in the early hours of Monday.
Some of the residents said that if the vibration of the earth persisted they would relocate to the nearby communities.
When the second vibration occurred at about 4am yesterday, the fear-gripped villagers said that they took to their heels and only returned after the situation subsided.
In a press statement, the Kaduna State government urged the residents of the affected communities to remain calm.
Officials of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and experts from the state government, on Monday visited Kwoi in Jaba Local Government Area to assess the situation.
Reporters learnt that the vibration was still being felt in the area on Monday evening, with most of the residents staying outside their houses for fear of being taken unawares.
The Prince of Jabaland, S. Maude, told News Men that the residents are still leaving in fear.
“We have cracks in houses but no casualty has been recorded. People are just hanging outside their houses for fear of being taken unawares,” he said.
Governor Nasir el-Rufai, who appealed to the people to remain calm, urged them to avoid spreading information capable of causing panic in the area.
In the statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the governor said that he had notified the geological and emergency agencies of the incident.
“The governor sympathises with the people in the Kwoi area over the reported earth tremor. He has directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to mobilise to the area and comfort the people,” Aruwan said.
