Edo Guber: Publish Election result on your Official Portal - PDP tells INEC

Objections to the outcome of the September 28 governorship election in Edo State have continued to mount with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) calling on the electoral umpire to publish the result of the election on the INEC portal.
In a statement signed by the Party’s State Publicity Secretary, Chris Osa Nehikhare, the party noted that “a week after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced the disputable Edo State Governorship Election Result, the commission is yet to publish it on its official portal.”
It stated, “We consider this hesitance as contrary to global best practices in a situation like this where transparency ought to be sacrosanct.”

“This curious delay in publishing the result for the global audience is reminiscent of INEC’s unprecedented suspension of the collation of the results and refusal to allow even observers entry into collation centers, a period which it needed to reverse the gains of the other contesting parties, particularly the PDP, to favour the ruling APC.
“However, we are not surprised because we are aware that INEC was compromised and thus manipulated the result to favour the APC and its candidate, Mr Godwin Obaseki who was declared winner,” the statement added.
The party said it is in possession of “the bogus figures used by INEC to declare Mr Godwin Obaseki as winner and so cannot be clandestinely doctored to perfect their crime against democracy.”
“INEC knows that they left loose ends which may easily be discernible from publishing details of the results as announced on September 29 because they are at variance with what their electoral officers issued to party agents at the polling stations on the day of election.”
