Kogi State Not Owing Workers Salary - Gov Bello

Despite claims from civil servants in Kogi State that the state government is owing sever­al months of unpaid salaries, the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has insisted that his government is not owing any worker in the state.
Bello dismissed as untrue the allegation that his gov­ernment was owing workers in the state.

The governor refuted the allegation yester-day at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja after appearing before the Kogi State All Progres­sives Congress fact-finding and reconciliation committee.
The Committee, setup by the national leadership of the APC to reconcile warring factions of party members in Kogi State, is being chaired by Prince Tony Momoh.
Speaking to journalists at the APC national secretariat, the Kogi State Governor stat­ed that there was no politi­cal crisis in the state, adding that the state has been peace­ful under his administration, compared with what it was in the past.
“APC in Kogi State is intact, strong and sol-idly behind me and I am here in the head-quarters today to discuss fam­ily matters and it went on very smoothly. l came to dis-cuss the progress of our party and the administration and pro­gress in Kogi State.”
“All of us in the state met before the com-mittee and we discussed family matters and it went very well,” said Bello.
On the allegation that Kogi State workers are being owed salaries, the governor said: “I will simply refer you to Kogi State website so that you can get the fact from there. You will see from there four months arrears owed by the previous administration have been cleared.
