Anambra Election Boy-cut: Kanu Suffers Setback as Uwazurike-led Movement Urges Members To Troop Out And Vote

- The BIM leader also stated that there would be an outbreak of anarchy in the state, if the election does not hold A pro-Biafra group led by Ralph Uwazurike, the Biafra Independence Movement (BIM) , has separated itself from calls made by the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), for a boycott of the Anambra governorship election scheduled to take place on November 18. According to reports, BIM stated that the development of Anambra state would be hampered, if the boycott order is obeyed. It also said that the order was anti-Igbo.

According to Nkama, the group has directed its members who are registered voters in Anambra to ensure that democratic governance continues in the state, by trooping out in large numbers to vote on that day. Noting that BIM was totally against the IPOB order, Nkama stated: “When you boycott the election, you are selling your rights”. Nkama also revealed that BIM had taken steps to alert people against being deceived, by embarking on ‘sensitization visits’ to people all over Anambra state’s 21 Local Government Areas. The BIM leader also stated that if the election does not hold, Anambra state would witness an outbreak of anarchy.
